In MMD 990601 Matthew Caulfield argued about the exact title of the
announced Schott CD-ROM. Because of the fact that I could contribute
some pictures and sounds to this Schott CD, I got a beta version of
the CD-ROM recently, and so I can read from it the exact wording as it
will be published (hopefully) soon:
The English title is: Encyclopedia of Mechanical Musical Instruments
and the German title is: Lexikon Musikautomaten
After having spent the first several hours with browsing through this
outstanding informative oeuvre, I can tell you that it is exceptionally
well done. If some people call Bowers' Encyclopedia "The Bible of MM",
I would call this Schott CD "The New Testament of MM". It's great!!
Greetings from Germany to all of you
