Converting Art-Echo Instrument To Play Ampico Rolls
By Dean Randall

In MMD 990520 Craig Brougher is of course absolutely correct that
it is quite possible to re-engineer the Art-Echo to play Ampico rolls.
My point in the same Digest was that it isn't simply a matter of
re-arranging a couple of tubes and achieving satisfactory musical
results, as Michael Swanson had heard that it might be.

There used to be a number of instruments around (at least within the
AMICA membership) in which the Art-Echo expression mechanisms had been
replaced with Ampico expression regulators and crescendoes. I would
expect reasonably correct musical results from these instruments when
used with Ampico music rolls.
