Subscriber Donovan Hannis is looking for mechanical music of some kind
to play for the Memorial Day parade in his home town of Erie, Illinois.
He wrote:
"The school bands always have marched in our parade and played at
the service, but due to the school calendar, they can't participate
this year. We have formed a volunteer band to take its place -- we
had our first practice tonight -- made up of students, parents and
us old fogeys. While this will provide music for the memorial
service, this group won't be able to march in the parade. Some of
us don't have enough wind pressure to move and play at the same
time. As for me, I think my clarinet has developed a sizable leak,
because it takes much more air than it did 25 years ago."
Please write to Donovan at <donovan@comply1.com> if you know someone
with a calliope or mobile band organ who can help his town parade.
