Well said. The book, "The Art of Organ Voicing", by L. G. Monette,
is about $35.00 from Organ Historical Society. It has some good basic
info. The real test, as you say, is inside the organ. The ol' "School
of Hard Knocks" applies here big time. Working with a pro is a real
treat, and there are lots of tricks of the voicing trade. If you can
get with experienced persons (and _pay them_ them for their time) you
should be on the right road fast .
