Dear MMD -
First, thank you for all your supportive phone calls and emails in
regards to the start of "New England Music Rolls". It's comforting to
know I've made some correct decisions regarding title selections!
I've just been on the phone with Wayne Stahnke who is in the process
of scanning my "Coming This Summer" rolls. One historically significant
roll, QRS 2549 "Oh Baby" was perforated incorrectly at QRS. Notes 19 and
43 are missing, and note 62 stops sometime after row 1303. Wayne, bless
his soul, has filled in the notes as he believes they should be, but of
course, it's not the original. And even though I have a production copy,
it's not "the original". Wayne's synchronous scanning process produces
the master roll exactly, and it's a shame not to have an absolutely
correct artifact. Is there anyone out there that has another copy that
I may loan to Wayne to double check / copy the missing columns?
Also, I have an Imperial roll "If I Had A Talking Picture Of You" - but
I don't have the roll number. It's very very faint on the roll. Neither
Wayne nor I can read it. Can anyone identify the correct number? Is
there a method to make the number more legible (using a solvent or
black light or something)? Any help on this matter too would be
appreciated.
