Hi Doug and the rest of the MMD world. In reference quickly to Doug's
question on the Franklin Ampico, it appears that in the East, the brand
Franklin appears to be at the bottom of the top few Ampico, but still
with value. It is like asking about a Stroud Duo-Art which, sale-wise,
maintains to keep a low profile.
Between hospital calls and such I recently sold a totally unrestored
Steck Duo-Art grand for $3500. Not knowing the market at the other
side of the world, I would go somewhere around the figure if the case
and such is as nice as you describe. I do have many spare parts from
some very damaged (woodwode) reproducers, and of course, Bob Streich-
er, down the country road from me, would be able to help out in the
brass fittings etc.
Let's get some more figures in it and see if you can give the Franklin
another life. Incidentally, I too have three players here that are
almost in a give-away stage and they are playing.
To the rest of MMD, the pipe organ is coming along fine.
