In response to Jim Moore's question about the repetition rate on the
PianoDisc player: I have found the following works for me with a "PDS
128 Plus" with "Silent Drive".
(1) I have found that changing the minimum note duration (DUR) setting
will have an effect on repetition. There is a trade off here. If the
duration is short you get better repetition but loose very soft notes.
(2) The values you use for minimum note velocities will also effect
the value you can use for the minimum note duration. If you set the
minimum note volume louder you can set the minimum note duration values
lower.
(3) There is a difference in the values for initial and follow power
with the different expression tables (grand, vertical, long, short,
etc., and for 40 volts vs. 35 volts).
I had a piano that I had a lot of trouble getting to meet the customers
expectations. I found that by trying various combinations I was able
to get one that satisfied the customer. On some pianos you have to set
these features different from what you generally use in order to meet a
specific need.
