CDs of Old Phono Recordings
By Deane Wiley

I posted this directly to Damon Atchison, but it occurred to me that
others might be interested in it.

I recently bought a "dual tray" CD maker from Phillips which allows
me to directly input my turntable and converts the analog signal to
digital and then "cuts" a CD which is playable in any CD player.
I have been putting my favorite 78's on CD's for some time now and
the result (to me) is more than satisfactory.

The conversion process appears (to my old ears) to clean up the sound
very well and makes playing the CD a real pleasure, as is being able
to move around the various tracks and play different tunes.
