Playing 78 RPM Records
By Daniel Fiorda
I read the articles written by Craig and Don Cox. At the very
first time of the recording industry there was not a rule to follow.
Several kinds of equalization curves were adopted by the different
standards organizations. There was a Philips Netherlands publication
(1971) called Audio Systems in which there was a circuit to build a
very simple equalizer which can choose the different 78 RPM equali-
zation curves.
I have a copy of my own and if you want it, please ask me for the
schematics and I'll send it to you soon. Furthermore, an audio firm
from Argentina sells an equalizer ready to do this. This firm is
Holimar and you could find it through the web searching through Alta
Vista or any other search engine.
Sincerely Yours.
