I know this issue has come up on the list before and I searched the
archives for solutions. I found information on two companies who move
pianos cross country but both had some short comings and I thought I
would see if anyone on the list has any suggestions.
My move requirements consist of getting an Aeolian Grand Player Organ
from a home in the San Francisco Bay area to my home in central Ohio.
There is no rush as the previous owner is storing it for me, but I do
need to remove sometime in the next several months.
Schaffer Bros. would do it in 2 to 5 weeks, but currently are asking
$1,090, which is twice what was indicated in the archives. I think the
organ part of the description scared them off.
Keyboard Carriage would do it for $650 but only from piano dealer to
piano dealer.
It's looking like flying out and driving a rental van back would be less
expensive, but involves a lot of time.
Would appreciate any ideas anyone might have! Also, I am looking for a
source of rolls for the above unit.
