I have no experience with "newer" players. Perhaps someone out there
can help these folks out. Please respond directly to them. Thanks!

Subject: Player troubles
Dear Mr Newman, You needn't reply if I am out of order sending you
this, in which case I apologize. I wonder if you might steer me to
someone who can help me repair an electric player. I know very little
about the manufacturer. All I can find on it is a placard inside that
states, "Welt-Mignon, Inc, model WM1", and then lists the electric
ratings (115V AC, 3 amp, single phase, 60 cycles).
Anyway this piano has a warped take-up spool and needs new belts for
the electrical motor connection with the spools. It's not an expensive
unit at all. Looks to have been manufactured in the 50's or 60's.
My interest is classical piano, so this piano is hardly used except
by a group of college Christians who gather at our home every Friday.
It'd be great to get it going again.
So, if you could tell me where to turn as to repair, I'd appreciate it.
Maybe it'll need more work than I imagine.
Thanks for reading this. Even if you cannot answer it, I appreciate
the opportunity to lay my problem before you.
Sincerely,
Thomas L. Standlee, M.D.
