Hi, all. I sighted a player piano in a film early this morning when
it was too early to get up, too late to go back to sleep.
"Mogambo" (1953, Clark Gable, Grace Kelly, Ava Gardner") in a scene
where Gardner is singing to the piano playing "Comin' Through The Rye".
Ava could hold a tune all right, but I understood why MGM decided to
use another vocalist doing her singing in "Showboat". (I have learned
recently it was a big thing at the time: she was being coached by one
of the all time best voices in the world -- her husband, Frank
Sinatra.)
