Anti-Virus Program 'Saves the Bacon'
By Mike Ryan

A friend of mine recently sent me "Happy99.exe." Trusting the source,
I double-clicked on it. My Norton AntiVirus program immediately
advised me that the file contained the "Happy Worms Virus." Norton
couldn't repair it so I deleted it. This isn't the first time that
Norton saved my bacon.

Norton was the first program I installed, and I update it weekly.
There are several good, inexpensive anti-virus programs available and
I think having one makes sense. Even so, I'm going to be more careful
about trusting the source in the future.
