Hi folks, I was talking to Nancy Fratti this morning and she asked
me to pass on this request. In addition to several other duties, Nancy
is in charge of the door prizes for the 50th anniversary meeting in
September.
You may recall that we had a large number of door prizes at the Seattle
meeting and we had a lot of fun giving them out (and receiving them)
at various functions. There were a LOT of them, so, in most cases,
someone at each table won something. She'd like to get enough prizes
lined up that we can have even a better time at the 50th anniversary
meeting.
Soooo, if you have something you'd like to donate for a door prize
(other than a door), please send an e-mail to Nancy and she will give
you the details and tell you how to get it to her. You can donate
anything in good condition that is related to mechanical music. For
purposes of transportation, reasonable sized items would be preferred
but exceptions will be made if appropriate (in case you'd like to
donate a band organ).
Consider books, tapes/CDs, music boxes, rolls, disks, services,
literature, chapter/other memberships, posters, early table favors,
or even doors (to music boxes, of course). An interesting or unusual
service, musical or historical item would be fun also. "That gave me
the idea. I'm going to send her a certificate for a free polishing job
to restore an original governor jewel."
Nancy's e-mail address is <musicbox@sover.net>. Put on your thinking
caps and give Nancy a hand -- and make more fun at the convention.
Regards,
Craig Smith
