A perfect twin to this piano, in outstanding unrestored still-playing
condition, surfaced at a local public auction here in Winnipeg, Canada,
a couple months ago. It had 35 standard 88n rolls with it, no Duo-Art
rolls. It was (is) a foot pumped single-sided Duo-Art, i.e., it's
expression box is affectionately known as a "one-lunger".
The auctioneer described it poorly, opened the bidding at $200 to
silence. ($200 Can. is about $120 US.) He reopened the bidding at
$100, to silence. He was about to set it aside when somebody did throw
up his hand, followed by one other person for a brief bidding exchange.
It sold for $175 Can.
I was determined that I would not come home that day with yet another
piano, so I let it slide. Never did find out who bought it, or
bought it back.
