I've been reading MMD for several months and it is clear there are
a number of experts and frequent contributors on pianos and related
issues. Thanks for all of us, for your expertise and sharing of your
experience and knowledge! May I ask about a piano?
I have a couple questions related to an older Gulbransen baby grand
piano that my wife has just been given by her parents. They would
actually like us to have it moved professionally from their house to
ours (only about a mile) soon, and we do have a place to put it.
It is likely to be an older piano, since her parents also inherited
it. (1920's to 40's?)
Questions:
1- Where on a Gulbransen grand would I look to find the serial numbers
or model number plate?
2- Given that, what other information would you or an installer need
to be able to convert this piano into a reproducing piano -- or could
it be done at all? Should it?
That's all I want to bug you with for now, until I can find out more
about the piano for you.
Thanks for your time!
