This name was used on and off for years all the way up until 1980
for pianos made by Aeolian. The Welte name was used by several
manufacturers, and was last used on a player piano with a two-tier
stack, electric drive motor for the spool frame, and which had the later
style Aeolian plastic valves on their sides. I don't remember the
brand of piano but it was not an Aeolian brand.
I still have the top stack off one of these. I think it was an Estey
console from the early sixties with the Welte-Mignon name on the player
parts. It was used in a bar here for many years.
