I am still repairing one of the small Autophone hand-operated strip
organettes (pictured in Bowers' Encyclopedia, page 756). I am down
to the cosmetic details and need to replace the Label on the front,
and cannot read all the printing.
Can someone supply me with the proper text for the top and bottom
(curved) lines? I assume that the top line is the product name,
and the bottom line contains patent dates.
I also do not understand the purpose of a slotted brass hoop (pictured
in Bowers' Encyclopedia, page 756, at the extreme upper left of the
upper left drawing). It looks as if it could be flipped upright and
would hold something thin like a piece of paper, but what? And why?
I have reproduced the decorative paper which covers the bellows,
if anyone is interested. (Blue basket-weave pattern)
All help and information is greatly appreciated.
