A Sad Tale -- In 1994, I completely rebuilt my Ampico reproducing piano.
I purchased what I thought were the very best of materials * from Player
Piano Company. * I used hot glue, and the job seemed to turn out well.
Recently, I noticed the Ampico seemed to be playing a bit sluggishly.
Upon inspection, I discovered that all of the "quality" pneumatic cloth
is now full of leaks!
It is very frustrating to discover my efforts (in obtaining the best)
and using original type materials were wasted. I am now thinking of
recovering the striking pneumatics with Polylon. Any advice? I have
never used Polylon. Do I use hot glue? Smooth side down, cloth side
out?
