American Piano Industry 1960's to 1981
By Craig Brougher

Don Teach really told it like it is. I hope that every reader of the
MMD will devour his letter yesterday, and realize what he is saying!

Don loves quality, and wants everybody to have it. As a matter of
fact, Don would probably pay for the opportunity to punch somebody in
the nose who was intent on taking advantage of the public and making
money off their ignorance (and this is not an exaggerated
presumption!).

At the same time, I want to throw in my two cents for Yamaha who make
about the finest full upright piano that is built, today.

They are, without a doubt, the most conscientious piano company on this
planet. Anybody who loves pianos so much that they would buy the great
Sitka spruce forests to assure themselves of the best sound boards the
world can own, is -- in my opinion -- people after my own heart!

Craig Brougher

[ It goes without saying: all the recent letters about poor piano
[ quality are from folks who _know_ good quality and love it. Don't
[ you wish you knew auto mechanics who are as conscientious as these
 [ MMD piano techs? :-) -- Robbie
