I've never seen one of these, but it is probably for a residence
installation, rather than for a theatre, as the average small theatre
(the largest buyer of instruments of this type) would have no use for
a 4-roll player unit that wasn't rapidly accessible.
Also, Seeburg's involvement in the theatre business was rather small
and fairly short-lived. They built a photo-player type instrument
(which would have had its own built-in player) under the Seeburg name,
and the Smith Organ Co. of Geneva IL built some unit theatre organs
under the Seeburg-Smith name, but the organs were all Smith, except
for the name. I don't believe that any Seeburg-Smiths had a roll
player.
The Seeburg-Smith association was dissolved when Smith's quality didn't
measure up to Seeburg's expectations. Of course, I could be all wet!
Anybody else out there with any ideas?
