Leather for Duo-Art Box Pump
By Darrell Clarke

Hello all, I have read Michael Kitner's notes on rebuilding Duo-Arts
where he recommends using leather instead of bellows cloth for the box
pump pneumatics. Have other members tried this and was it satisfactory
or would you recommend other materials? And what about the flap
valves?

Which thickness and grade of leather would be best? I am tempted to
use kangaroo leather because of its reputation for being strong and
airtight. Any thoughts and other re-building suggestions, e.g.,
bearing replacements?

Cheers,

Darrell Clarke
