Hello everyone! I should have realized that using the term "half
Duo-Art" would get a response from Douglas Henderson. I used the term
simply because it seems to be in general use. Not because I think of
the pedal Duo-Art as incapable of giving as satisfactory a performance
as the electric version. I agree with Douglas on this point. However
we do need a way of distinguishing Duo-Arts with only one accordion
regulator from those with two. Do you have a better suggestion,
Douglas?

[ Editor's note:
[
[ We need both a formal or historical term as well as an informal
[ term. The name 'Pianola' was hated by Aeolian's competitors,
[ but the man-in-the-street nonetheless said 'Pianola' instead of
[ the generic term 'player piano'. 'Half of a Duo-Art', or 'pedal
[ Duo-Art', may not be historically accurate, but terms like these
[ are certainly descriptive and in regular use.
[
[ Don't forget: a dictionary does not _define_ word usage --
[ it _reflects_ how folks (that man in the street) use words.
