Jack Breen inquired about insurance. We have insured our large collec-
tion and "for sale" inventory of mechanical musical instruments for
some 25 years now. For many years we were with Travelers Insurance,
under a "Fine Arts" policy, not paying very much, as I recall it was
3/10 of 1%, or .003, of the value. We did have to get an appraisal
every few years.
We now have a policy through the broker that handles our company
insurance, so I can't tell you offhand who the insurance company is,
but it allows for items to move in and out of inventory just like they
would for any retail store. We never had a problem with individual
item limits, with a number of items that run over the $30,000 cited.
