Larry Mayo asked about obtaining the non-acid based silicone sealant.
I got mine from a commercial distributor of chemical adhesives and
solvents. Found them in the phone book.
The runny*, acid based stuff is GE RTV 118 (2.8 fl oz) and the runny*
alcohol based stuff is Toshiba TSE 399 (100 gm). There is a "third"
type as well, but I can't for the life of me remember what it is.
I decided it wouldn't be appropriate for this type of application so
I didn't get any; maybe it was a lot more expensive or it only came
in large tubes. Not sure why.
By the way, the runny* stuff is about like -- (I'm going through the
fridge) -- about like Log Cabin Maple Syrup. Hardly a hint of odor
either.
So now I, and the other MMD'ers, are wondering: what you plan to do
with all this runny silicone seal?

Craig Smith
