Great news for DUGGERS in the Northwest! Here are some events in your
area that you won't want to miss.

   An Evening with PianoBench

George F. Litterst, known to the Disklavier User's Group (DUG) as
PianoBench, will present a lively evening of entertainment and
technology-sharing at several locations in northern California in early
July, 1998. These evening presentations are intended for Disklavier
owners and hobbyists, amateur and professional pianists, piano
students, teachers, and piano lovers, as well as MIDI and Internet
enthusiasts. Each presentation will focus on:

 * exciting interactive features of the Disklavier piano
 * using the Disklavier with computer software
 * playing MIDI files from the Internet on the Disklavier
 * using the Disklavier with other, amazing technologies
 * the intelligent piano of the future

Attendees are invited to bring all of their Disklavier, MIDI, and
Internet questions because each evening is planned with audience
interaction in mind. PianoBench will provide each member of the
audience with a bag of Disklavier and MIDI goodies, and there will
be prizes, too!

Please come and join us. You will leave with a smile on your face
and you may even feel a little wiser!

   About PianoBench

George Litterst (aka PianoBench) is a music educator, clinician,
author, performer, music software developer, and a consultant to the
Keyboard Division of Yamaha.

A classically-trained pianist, he earned his Master's Degree in piano
performance at the New England Conservatory where he currently teaches
as a member of the Preparatory School faculty.

Recently, he served as a technical consultant for the Boston Pops
Orchestra in their acclaimed Gershwin Tribute program. This concert
featured the orchestra accompanying George Gershwin's own solo piano
performance as realized through a Disklavier disk transcription of an
original piano performance. PianoBench was instrumental in the
technical implementation for this program including conversion of the
piano roll.

PianoBench has recorded MIDI albums of both classical and ragtime
music. On Sundays, he serves his local church as keyboardist. Not
long ago he scored and recorded a Disklavier accompaniment for the 1917
Douglas Fairbanks silent movie Down to Earth.

PianoBench also maintains a private studio in Newton Centre, Massa-
chusetts where he teaches using the high-tech Disklavier piano. He
frequently conducts Disklavier and MIDI training workshops around
the country.
