Introduction & Troll & Baker Music Box
By Ken Northfield

Hello, My name is Ken Northfield, I am a new member interested in
music boxes. The Troll & Baker music box I own has been in my family
sense the late 1800's. When it comes to antiques I know nothing, and
when it comes to music boxes I know even less. That's where you come
in: I need all the help and advice you can offer.

My music box is in good working order yet it needs some minor repairs
and general up keep. The box measures 40" long x 14.5" wide x 10.5"
tall and sits on its matching table. There are four 17" cylinders that
have 10 tunes on each one; they can be stored in a drawer in the
table. This music box also has six bells, a drum and a castanets.

I am interested in any information and history pertaining to Troll
& Baker music boxes, and any way of determining the actual age of my
music box. Also any information on how to take care of such an
antique.

How do people go about insurance needs for such an Item and determining
its value? Any suggestions will be kindly received.

Thank you

Ken Northfield
