What are your ideas about creating a site dedicated to registering
Duo-Arts? I have been doing a little work creating a registration
form for D-A owners to fill out and submit via the Internet. I am very
interested in knowing how many Duo-Arts there are out there and in what
pianos and so forth. The form should include the following:
1. Owner name
2. City & State
3. Piano make, model and type
4. Duo-Art system type
5. Serial number
6. Pump type
7. Tracker bar layout
8. Expression box layout
This is only just scratches the surface of the questions that should
be addressed. Now I need your advice.
1. Has this already been done somewhere?
2. Are you Duo-Art owners interested in a registry of this type?
3. If the form is set up would you register your instrument?
4. What other info do you think is needed on the form?
5. Is this a big waste of time??
I'll make a deal. If the response is very positive I will set up a
form and let you see it and help me decide what else needs to be done
before it is activated. I also realize non-Internet owners will need
to be allowed to register and I have already thought about placing the
form in our Mechanical Music publications.
Also, with the questions about the piano that the average owner knows
little about, we could include pictures to illustrate the feature in
question, but at the same time keep the form simple and straightforward.
At the present I can use a cgi script to mail the form results back to
me at which time I can process and create a web site devoted to the
registry.
Your feedback is needed. If you think this is a stupid idea then let
me know, because I realize without the support of you Duo-Art owners
I will end up wasting a LOT of time.
