I note the latest inquiry from John Dewey and Dan Wilson's reply with
regard to the Solo-Carola piano system. Last May I put out a note in
the MMD to see if anyone has one of these pianos, in an endeavor to find
out how many were still around.
I have a perfect one in my collection. I need to restore the top
pneumatics which were rather badly redone by someone about 10 years
ago. So I was interested in also discussing with someone who had one
of these pianos and how it was playing.
I had one reply from John Phillips who knew of another one in Australia
in Melbourne, that we all now know about. John was kind enough to
exchange 4 rolls he had with me.
I would still be interested to know of any others and acquire more
rolls, if anyone has any for exchange.
Like the one John Dewey repaired, mine has all the charts inside the
bottom of the case. These are quite clear and I could copy them if any
one wants them to complete a piano.
