Intermittent QRS Pianomation One System
By John A. Tuttle

HI All, I need to find someone who can test and check the Processor
Board from a Pianomation One system. For reference:

  Serial Number: 0306
  ESS-A.0.1290 Assy 10500 REV B

About this system:

I have a strong feeling there is a very minor problem with this system.
All the voltages from the power supply check normal, all the solenoid
drivers appear fine (no evidence of overheating), tape player is work-
ing and output signal to the Processor seems strong. I was told by the
owner that the system has, from time to time, operated intermittently
up until about a year ago when it quit.

I am not familiar with the principles of operation and have been unable
to find any service manuals for the device. I've checked with Terry
Dolan at QRS who supplied me with the schematics for both the processor
and the power supply. And I do have the installation manual. Any
leads will be very much appreciated. The owner does not want to
upgrade.

Question: Is there any sort of light or diode in the system that
gives an indication of proper sync like with the Pianocorder system?
The reason I ask is because when power is first applied, there is a
light-emitting diode in the power supply that flashes once.

Please help,

John A. Tuttle (john@player-care.com)
