Rachmaninoff Audio Recordings vs. Ampico CD
By Jim Moore

Okay, I can't stand it any longer, I'll throw in my "two-bits" worth.
I liked the CD very much.

I will acknowledge, however, that I am not familiar with the power of
the Boesendorfer and therefore some of the selections at times seemed,
to me, somewhat "over-powered". I do believe Mr. Stahnke, when he said
he talked with someone who actually heard Rachmaninov live, so I do
believe that this was Rachmaninov's style.

Also, judging from some actual recordings of the day that I have
listened to, I believe Stahnke has very accurately replicated a
live Rachmaninov concert.
