Hi:
Just returned from the Deansboro auction and am now just catching up
on what's on the MMD and noticed Darrell Clarke had posted the
availability of Filmoplast mending paper tape in Australia. I have been
an avid collector of music rolls for about 30 some years and have always
been concerned with what kind of tape to repair the rolls. Several years
ago a couple of collectors sent me some samples of the various kinds
available. The tapes did not seem to be too available to us collectors
unless it was special ordered. Since I have been doing music roll
auctions since 1987 and am a member of AMICA and MBSI, I decided to
stock the tape for my music roll customers. Since I was not sure my
customers would pay in the twenty dollar range for the Filmoplast tape,
I decided to stock the Archival Quality Transparent Mending Tissue
manufactured by Lineco. While a bit smaller sized roll, it is a bit less
money. It is 1/2 inch wide by 600 inches long. Non yellowing,
removable, neutral pH, acid free tissue, very thin, transparent, with an
acid free adhesive. You can find it listed at my web site:

I currently offer the Lineco tape at $11 for one roll or $20 for two
rolls, and $10 per roll if you want more than two rolls. Shipping
charges anywhere in the world is $2.50 for up to two rolls and 50 cents
per roll additional. I also include with the order, my treatise on
"Preservation and Restoration of Music Rolls", free.
