Have any Orchestrelle owners out there made any recordings of their
instruments? I have never heard one play, and would love to hear one.
In fact, I think it would be a great idea if the MMD website had an
area where one could download RealAudio files of various unusual
mechanical musical instruments...including Orchestrelles, Violanos,
Photoplayers, Reproduco Organs, Grand Roller Organs, etc. The few
mechanical music museums are so few and far between, and often do not
feature playing instruments, with exception of a player piano, music
box, or occasionally a reproducing piano. Viewing the instruments in
books and museums is great, but even better if we could HEAR them
all! How about a "virtual museum" for the MMD?
Thanks!

[ I very much would like to put more pictures and sounds on the
[ MMD Website. We have plenty of bandwidth and plenty of disk
[ space. What is lacking, at least until Robbie retires from
[ his "day job" is enough editing energy to do all the follow-up
[ work thats required to produce well researched and edited
[ pages. In the meantime, however, I strongly encourage anyone
[ that has copyright free material, or material that they have
[ the authority to let us, to please send it to us, or at
[ least make us aware that its available. Thanks much -- Jody
