[ In Digest 98.09.16 Matthew Caulfield provided some information on
[ E.T.Paull (Edward Thomas Paull).
Wonderful information on the Lincoln march writer and his association
with Vandersloot and also with E. T. Paull. I would add, in an
information piece we put out , that E.T.Paull did write, edit, arrange
or publish about 210 pieces, not all marches, but he kept busy, and his
most popular marches were collectible for their Hoehn litho covers too
which are on auction almost all the time. It might be noted too that
Sousa has some Edison cylinder recordings of things like "Jolly
Blacksmiths", "Charge of the Light Brigade" etc., and these are on
2-4 Edison Ambers. cylinders, if you can find them. Credit is given
to Sousa directly on the sheet music, in reference to his band playing
the music on the sheet itself. It might be possible to post the
E. T. Paull listing of titles, if time ever allows, right here for your
references.
