To introduce myself; I am a recent reader of the MMD; a long-time
member of AMICA (and a former pres.); a long-time player piano nut and
roll collector for almost forty years.
I have a small recording business (Trad-Digital Audio Services;
P.O. Box 4426, Panorama City, CA 91412-4426) doing digital audio
location recording. My main claim to fame to date is producing audio
recordings of festivities celebrating Rosy McHargue's 93rd, 94th, &
95th Birthdays (featuring, among other all-stars, Robbie Rhodes on
pianorano), four cassette tapes and a CD.
My main musical interests are Ragtime (of course), one-steps, marches,
and arranged (as opposed to hand-played) popular music of the era
approx. 1910 to 1925. I am currently producing a sampler cassette tape
of unusual rolls from my collection, primarily music heard only on
piano rolls.
Also greetings to Lee Roan and probably other friends, fellow readers
of MMD.
Bill Mintz
P.S.: Hi Robbie - Missed you at the "Sweet & Hot" Fest in Los Angeles.
[ Hi Bill -- welcome aboard MMD. I was playing in Marin County last
[ weekend, that's why I missed you! Please tell us more about your
[ unusual rolls. Is the sampler tape for sale? -- Robbie
