To all: I wonder if any members collect tapes re performers/piano/
music in general? My question results from a fruitless search for
a VCR of a 1969 documentary about the late Arthur Rubinstein, made
in France and titled there "L'amour de la vie" (The Love of Life).
It's not to be confused with a Horrywood (my spelling) consideration
of the life and times of the painter, Vincent van Gogh ("Lust for
Life") or another similarly-titled effusion. One finds details of the
listing in the Web movie service, but no one (including libraries here)
seems to know of it or have it. Can anyone help?
Further, if there is a listing of such documentaries, or movies rela-
tive to our passion, the piano, I'd be glad to have it. Incidentally,
I'll have information on the availability and cost of a brand-new book
ON the piano with more than 200 full-color illustrations of pianos
through the ages. It's titled "Piano" (some may know if it already)
and was written and produced in England, I believe. More of that
later.
Thanks for any help,
Albert M. Petrak
