Hello MMD readers, This subject is probably a bit off track, but
having failed everywhere else, why not try this forum.
One of the first movies produced in Germany after WW2 (the "Big One",
according to Archie Bunker) was titled "Liebe 47" and had as main theme
the return to his hometown and resulting anguish of one of its native
sons, who had served in the military, and now found a destroyed city
and home, a far cry from Hitler's projections. I remember that it had
a great impact on me, having lived through 5 years of occupation and
having experienced the sheer folly of wars in general.
The impression the movie made on me stuck in the back of my mind and in
later years wanted to see this movie again. However, I have not found
any source of supply of a video made from this movie, but I know for
sure that a video in VHS format was issued bearing the original title.
No clue by whom or when.
Does this ring a bell with anyone? I would be grateful to find a
source, be it private or whatever else. As an aside, asking around all
over in Germany itself gave me the impression that the movie apparently
was no big hit due to the angry and empty stares I got every time I
asked an "old timer" about it. Can anyone help?
