Meeting and Lodging in Deansboro NY
By Bill Ryan

I want to thank so many many members of this list for your wonderful
letters regarding your wish to meet during the Deansboro musical
auction, and also see the area. You may not have received a reply from
me yet, as I am in Northern Quebec moving like a hurricane southwest
toward Atlantic City and will be back in my office this coming
weekend, August 22-23. My fax is on all the time, at 518.732.1986

I am really so pleased that there are so many of us that want to go
through this thing together, and many who have written, as I
understand, for the auction catalogues.

1. I must tell you that you are really going out in to the country of
upstate New York., and at the same time you can choose hotel chains in
Utica New York, Herkimer New York, and probably a little bit west
toward Syracuse.

2. Someone asked about Verona, NY,. I am not sure at Exit 33 or 34
if, besides the Turning Stone Casino area, if there are any hookups for
folks with mobile homes and RV. Turning Stone Casino can answer that,
and they are 2 exists away from the Westmoreland NY exit which you will
use to go south a few country miles to Deansboro.

3. Utica is one stop away from Westmoreland, Herkimer is just about 4.
I would, right at this time, not having the exact names of the chains,
that if you choose a place to stay, ask for one near the New York State
Thruway exits. It is not an expensive commute for one or two trips.

4. Suggestions have come that we meet in Oriskany Falls, for a
luncheon after the auction is over (Sunday) or after the preview. I
would suggest the latter, so we can discuss moving any large equipment
that is left away from the sight and find some honest folk to do this
for you. (Maybe you won't even FIND Oriskany Falls on the map, but it
is quite quaint, and we like it here, when we can find it.)

Most likely, I personally will stay at the Herkimer Motel, one of those
little country two floor spots next to a fast food place and an on ramp
to the Thruway. I would hope that some Utican and/or some Syracusan
would feel more info while I am on the road here.

There will be a lot to talk about after the preview and I know that
some of us (we) locals, can help you out. I will be happy also, if any
are on vacation to take you through some of the older towns where the
older pianos and organs of the U.S.A. were made and built. Perhaps QRS
will come in on this. We have had an exchange with QRS already and
more news on that later. They are located farther west in Buffalo.
Perhaps Link, Kilgen, and other now defunct spots will interest others.

Anyways, Exit 33 is what you want for Deansboro, via Clinton off that
exit going south on 5-B (through the cornfields). Campers call the
Casino (Turning Stone Indian Casino) in Verona at 33 or 34, Utica is at
32, Herkimer at 28A, and numerous Syracuse stops right after Verona.
Send your questions to me here and I will try to answer them this
weekend on lodgings. Maybe you might even have to pack something to
sit on, as is common at times at these estate sales and such in this
area.

What a wonderful group you are. I am sure it makes Robbie and Jody
happy to see what is happening with them. There are some private
comments of course on material in the auction of the musical instru-
ments that I will reserve for a vis-a-vis contact. Have a good week
and my secretary will take care of the faxes if you write that way.
Any campers etc. who do not want to be on a casino facility at Verona
34 - please call the KOA for directions.
