Am restoring a Credenza, wind-up, which has been damaged in a flood,
rolled off a truck, and somewhere in its life was covered with some
sort of finish over the original finish.
Veneer is going back on pretty well. Doors warped bad, but with time
and pressure, looking better. It has two doors. Having problem
getting the 'set screws' to back out so that I can remove the
springs, etc., to lubricate. Any ideas?
Had a local machine shop make a new shaft for the winding gear. Am in
need of a 'head' (I guess that is what it is called), the round thing
that connects to the horn and holds the needle. The one with the
machine does not look like it is the correct one. It has been glued
together with what looks like 'JB Weld'. This machine is a Credenza,
number '9733' on the name plate.
I also have a VE8-30X #31194, cabinet, in good condition but the
electric motor, turn table, etc., is long gone. This one has four
doors. I would like to find a motor and turn table, tone arm, etc.,
for this one. Any ideas?
Thanks for listening.
