Jody, you were asking yesterday about eBay on-line auction. I've
been using it for the last year, and I love it. It's like a virtual
flea market in your own computer! The URL is:
http://pages.ebay.com/aw/index.html.
You must register to be a user or seller (a free process, and done to
help insure some protection for both buyer and seller). I have not yet
tried to sell anything through the site, but I believe there is a small
charge for listing an item, and eBay gets a small percentage or fee for
the sale.
I've bought a number of things, quite a number of great piano rolls,
and mechanical-music-related items. I've found that the best method
of finding things on the huge site is to simply use the search engine,
and enter things like, "player piano," "piano rolls," etc.
You wouldn't believe the range of stuff that's on there, from $1 piano
rolls to a over $15,000 Reproduco player piano/organ! Sometimes the
bidding on things goes way over their value, but other times you can
get some real bargains.
See y'all at the auction!
