Some more about Les Gets Festival:
Many organ makers or restorers or noteurs were there (Christian
Fournier and his Limonaire, Antony Chaberlot, Le Ludion, Jean-Paul
Erman, etc.). Christian Bailly, the author of "The golden age of
Automata", and his wife Sharon made a conference about singing bird
makers, from the XVIIIth to the XXth century.
Very interesting, because they emphasized the many relationships
between the various makers, and the frequent confusion between makers,
due to many similar Christian names in the same family, and different
families having the same name, as it is frequent in Switzerland.
Sharon Bailly told an anecdote about Rochat : if you climb on a Swiss
mountain and call "Rochat ?", the echo will answer, "Which one ?".
As for the 25 members of the MBSI who were present at the Festival
(under the supervision of Bob and Diana Yates), probably one of them
will tell us soon about their trip to Europe ...
