Hello Angelus Roll Experts,
I have a customer who has a R. S. Howard Player Piano (1907), American-
made player piano, that plays 65-note rolls. She has two boxes of
miscellaneous rolls and some are Melodant Angelus 65 note rolls.
The problem I discovered is that when attempting to install them the
normal way, the steel pins are reversed; the flanged pin is on the
left side. However, if the roll is turned upside down, it then fits
and also the words show correctly and are printed on the back side of
the roll.
I would like to know if these are British rolls that play upside down
or run from the bottom spool to the top one? The only way I can figure
for it to run properly so one can read the words, it has to be
installed upside down on the top spool. My definition of upside down
is with the paper coming off the bottom of the spool. Any help
appreciated. Thanks.
