Les Gets Festival
By Ingmar Krause

>[ Ingmar, did you visit an organ festival in France? Tell us
>[ about it! -- Robbie

Errr, yes, indeed, but I do not know if it's a good idea to tell much
about it, for I'd prefer all of you to come to those meetings instead
of just to read the reviews. ;-)))))))))

Well, we've been to Les Gets. Amazingly, I haven't heard anything about
the robbery there in June, but this could be 'cause I haven't been to
the museum.

I do not know if you knew it, but there really isn't enough time for
all of the "festivaliers" to see all of the happenings -- the expositions
and events of the programs of such a festival. Especially if you come
with a big organ and only two people to 'crew' it. So we weren't able
to see the museum and all the events in the church, as well as the
programs on the stages (besides the stage in front of our organ).

I only saw the expositions and most of the organs during the two or
three times when I hung my Ariston around my neck and had a little
walk. We met lots of old and new friends.

Perhaps you know that some people from the Music Box Society were
there. I'm a little sorry, 'cause before they were introduced at the
opening ceremony, they were walking around, also passing by the place
where we were just about to set up our organ. They asked if I needed
help. Because I didn't know who it was and I wanted to get ready, I
said quite roughly, "No, thanks," and they walked on.

The next day I had a little talk to one of them about Aristons, their
sizes, etc. I wondered a little, 'cause we had this in the MMD, so it
surprisingly seems to me that not all Americans do have access to the
Internet. ;-) At least he knew what I'm talking about as I mentioned
it :))

Of course we participated whenever there was one of the famous
French meals with "vin, fromage et desert," and sometimes you
suddenly heard some people "commencer a chanter les chansons."

As resume: it was nice and fun, and over far too fast.
Or: everything as usual

Perhaps Philippe wants to add something... ?
