As many of you now know, Cindy and I will be moving to Burlington,
Vermont at the end of July. I was either getting the last auction out
or preparing for the move, but I completely missed the thread that
featured stories regarding player moves.
Having had my Weber foot-pump grand moved a couple of times, I've
learned a few things about this nail-biting process. First, have piano
movers with experience (preferably lots of it) move the piano into the
truck. Also, as a precaution, I'll be warning the piano movers NOT to
use the chest as a tilting fulcrum to raise the piano onto its side.
Does anyone out there have some additional suggestions or know of some
other precautions I should take?
I may have the house movers unload the piano into the storage unit on
the other side. This SEEMS to be safe but again, I'm open to
suggestions or folks sharing their experience.
I've also stocked up on plenty of ulcer medication, antacid pills and
Valium in preparation for watching this event.
