Hi All, After I sent my article yesterday about finding the PianoDisc
_web site_, I realized that I said _e-mail_ address ... Duh!!!
I _assumed_ everybody would understand the difference ... but we
all know about the word ASS-U-ME (ooops ... typo).
Anyhow, I found their '800' number (800-566-3472) at the web site,
called and reached their Tech Support (Mark Johnston) and they gave
me the number of a PianoDisc technician about 20 miles from my home.
He (Mike Bingham in Toms River, NJ) hasn't returned my call yet.
I'd like to thank Jody for his explanation of internal computer
settings but does it apply to the PianoDisc system? And like
Robbie said, it's a bit difficult to do a software upgrade if
a disc isn't recognized. Maybe there's an external plug somewhere
that bypasses the floppy drive?
By the way, I did try moving the disc up, down and sideways as well
as in and out.
More to come as I discover answers,
John A. Tuttle (john@player-care.com)
[ The floppy drive is simple, John. Remove the covers and clean
[ and lubricate the little switches and sensors. Don't touch the
[ head mechanism, though. Try swapping with another drive, too --
[ the different makes are very compatible. -- Robbie
