Hi everybody. No they aren't connected. That was just an attention
grabber.
First of all I would like to thank all those people who replied to my
query about the composition of Player Piano Glue #320. The unanimous
verdict is that it is PVC-E. The local craft shops have no idea what
I'm talking about and the lady on the help-line of one of Australia's
largest adhesive manufacturers wasn't able to do just that. I think
I'll give up and get on the 'phone to PPCo. At least now I know what
I'm using.
The other bit is about my discovery of a human ailment new to science.
It's piano roll-induced backache. Last week I had a week's holiday
and, thanks to the forbearance of my wife, who did not point out all
the home-handyman jobs that are waiting around, I was able to spend
most of that time down in my workshop, bending over my roll repair
bench.
I got a lot of rolls fixed but by the time I went back to work I
was having to walk around VERY carefully, drawing in my breath very
suddenly from time to time. Fortunately I'm just about back to my
usual state of shambling decrepitude now. Obviously the ergonomics
of piano roll mending needs some research.
By the way, I found a lone Art-Echo roll the other day. Does anybody
want it?
