PianoDisc PDS 128 Problem

First, I hate to point out the obvious, but are you sure the disk is
good? Otherwise...

While it is possible that the disk drive has failed, it may also be
possible that the internal flash-ROM has been screwed up. Rather than
having a hard drive like on a PC, the PDS-128 uses a flash-ROM, a
writeable ROM chip which contains it's operating system. Being without
power for so long it occurs to me that the flash ROM may have become
drained.

PDS regularly issues software upgrades for these systems anyway, so
older operating systems are deleted and the new are added by means of a
simple floppy. If this is the problem a simple download of the latest
version would probably get you back in business.

Be aware that this is not a consumer-level task, as PDS only issues
these upgrades to certified PDS techs. You will need to contact one in
your area via a local dealer. The whole system likely needs to be
recalibrated by now anyway so this would be the time. If the whole
unit has gone bad, once again, you would need to contact your local PDS
tech.

Best wishes,
