Oh man! If you don't read the rest of this post, at least click on
the link below and read the product info. This is a wonderful thing.
Maybe I'm a little behind but this is a wonderful software solution for
me. Now I can listen to all MIDI files with CD quality. I promise you
will be impressed!! Complete product info and demo version can be seen
at the Cowon's home page. The only limitation to the demo is it will
only play for 3 minutes at a time. The demo package has an un-install
function. The demo is as large as the full program.

COWON's Wavetable MIDI Synthesizer is now available in "software
only". Jet-MIDI makes it possible for computers to playback MIDI
data with higher sound quality than ever before without a dedicated
hardware MIDI tone generator. Jet-MIDI provides state-of-the-art
wavetable emulation, allowing concert-quality MIDI sound through
as small as a 16-bit soundcard.

Oh man -- It's true! It sounds wonderful compared to what I had.
For those of us stuck in SoundBlaster 16 land this is a wonderful tool.
It is a separate MIDI device and if set as the default all MIDI players
are routed through it and sound great. Works well with Crescendo for
Internet listening. It only cost $19.00 and is in my opinion worth
every penny.
Last night I connected the sound card "line out" to my home surround-
sound system and man it was great. NO! It does not sound like a live
piano playing in my living room, but it is like night and day compared
to what I had. Even my wife could tell a difference!!
It can be purchased on-line from BUYDIRECT:

If you try it please let me know what you think. I'm sure you will
love it. No I'm not getting anything from this, I'm just interested
in sharing something I feel is a great thing.
PS. If you have not already checked out the new links page at our
site, it takes about 2 minutes to load but it's worth it. I'm working
on a text-only page and I'm going to break up the graphic page into 3-4
smaller pages.
