Greetings Gang, I, too, am vacationing a bit before the AMICA
Convention. Today I am in Rochester, rolling into Niagara Falls on
Wednesday afternoon.
On Sunday, before leaving Stratford, Ontario, Canada, I captured
a 2.5 MB wav file to my laptop of 'Shadow Waltz', played on Ken Vinen's
Victor Orthophonic phonograph. Undeniably an acoustic recording,
and ready to play back for the contemplation of any conventioneers
so inclined.
In addition I am bringing a restored 1950 Aeolian (American) PIANOLA
key-top piano player (Roehl's Treasury - page 40/50) and a Kawai PN100
digital piano for it to perform upon. I am looking forward to having
the PowerRoll put it through it's paces, as well.
For you guys and gals from 'way out in left field there will also be on
display, for your otherworldly enjoyment (?) a Robert Moog/Big Briar
Etherwave Theremin kit that I modified and 'shoe-horned' into a 1939
RCA tabletop radio cabinet.
See you in the hospitality suite -- and above, behind, beneath, beside,
at the foot of or simply over-looking Niagara Falls.
Dave Kerr
...and Happy Trails, Roy...
