Sharpening Tool
By Joyce Brite

This is in response to the recent discussion concerning sharpening arch
and tube punches. Years ago, I purchased an unusual sharpening tool at
a Pier One Imports store. The tool is German-made by a company
identified only as "CK". (Calvin Klein? Claus Kucher?) The tool
consists of two small bars, each about 3" long and 1/4" in diameter,
with small grooves running the length of the bar as illustrated below:

The two bars fit into a holder in a crossed "X" pattern.

Over the years, I have used this tool to sharpen scissors, knives, and
most recently, my yard clippers. There are even instructions for
sharpening scythes and sickles!

I am curious whether this unusual tool could also be used to sharpen
arch and tube punches. Therefore, I am requesting that _one_ volunteer
send me just 2 or 3 punches to try and sharpen. Don't send me a
truckload of punches -- they'll be returned to you unsharpened.
